I grew up in a family with no tradition of giving any guidance for the future. We had no practice of communicating with each other. Instead, the parents gave us, the children, orders. Children’s task was to carry out these orders: quietly and without unnecessary questions.
It was a cold and emotionally depriving upbringing process. And for many years, it made my life seem like a nightmare labyrinth without any signposts.
Only time and wise people whom I was lucky enough to meet on my way made me feel better about myself as a human being.
Being in my 40s, I feel that I have managed to rebuild my psychological well-being foundations. Among other things, the following self-care tips helped.
