After years of living in Ireland I decided to finally leave it. And apparently I’m not the only person who has made such a decision recently. Young people ready to leave Ireland, research finds — The Irish Post says. Ireland’s young people are leaving as they are no longer proud to call this country home — reports The Irish Times. I am one of the many young people leaving Ireland, here’s why — explains a reader’s letter in Galway Pulse.

Recent research from Ireland’s Central Office of Statistics indicates that a significant proportion of individuals under 30 are open to the idea of relocating to another European country. More than 57% of respondents aged 18 to 29 expressed their willingness to emigrate in order to live in a place with lower living costs.

Are these sudden popular decisions the result of only this? Ireland was considered one of the best countries to live in until recently. How has the situation changed in the last three years? My experience is all I have to offer.
